Where’s the plot? I guess we’ll never know。I just couldn’t for the life of me care about the characters, like I didn’t give one single fu*k about anyone。。。 Hermes is my fave by far。 Ngl DNFing the series is in my mind。

Less good than the first one。 My main issue has ti he with persephone’s growth? She acted sooo immature and spoiled and whiny, most of her scenes left irritated。Hades was almost non-existent in this book and I suppose it was to place a heavier focus on her growth, however it made the relationship feel very shallow。

I know the 3。45 rating seems really specific, but 4 star ratings (or 3。5 and up) are books I'll reread again, where as I probably won't 3 star ratings。)I enjoyed this book more than ATOD even if Persephone has (even more?) annoying moments and has the dumb-for-plot trope a lot of sassy-yet-"independent" female MCs have。 That being said, I like how people do call her out on her rashness, some nicely (Like Hecate) and some quite bluntly (Like Jaeson)。 I did have to stop read 3。45/5。0 rounded down (I know the 3。45 rating seems really specific, but 4 star ratings (or 3。5 and up) are books I'll reread again, where as I probably won't 3 star ratings。)I enjoyed this book more than ATOD even if Persephone has (even more?) annoying moments and has the dumb-for-plot trope a lot of sassy-yet-"independent" female MCs have。 That being said, I like how people do call her out on her rashness, some nicely (Like Hecate) and some quite bluntly (Like Jaeson)。 I did have to stop reading the book a couple times though because my annoyance with her choices was strong。 Also, I can't really blame her sometimes because Hades is not forthcoming。。。 at all。 That being said, ATOR is an easily digestible book that is entertaining。 。。。more

I enjoyed this book but I didn’t love it。 The passion and heat between Persephone and hades is undeniable。 They egg each other on。 He’s hot and she’s cold, he’s yes and she’s no。 She’s in and he’s out。 He’s up and she’s down。 It makes me dizzy。 I also found Persephone being a bit of a brat in this book。 She says one thing then does another then gets prissy when hades gets mad。 That being said I do love this world the author has created and hades is just so yummy!

While I understand why some people disliked this book, I have to feel for "Sephy"。 She's a goddess who wants to live a "normal life" as a mortal。 She wants to be seen as herself and not the daughter of Demeter or Hades' lover。 She wants to make her own mark in the world。 So I would give her a pass for feeling like she's out of sorts in this one。 I look forward to seeing how the couple deals with the next steps。 While I understand why some people disliked this book, I have to feel for "Sephy"。 She's a goddess who wants to live a "normal life" as a mortal。 She wants to be seen as herself and not the daughter of Demeter or Hades' lover。 She wants to make her own mark in the world。 So I would give her a pass for feeling like she's out of sorts in this one。 I look forward to seeing how the couple deals with the next steps。 。。。more

I really have mixed feelings。 The story was so good。 But I couldn’t get past the abusive and toxic relationship between Persephone and Hades。 They’re both terrible to one another。 We shouldn’t let these types of relationships be romanticized。 Also, in part one of this book, there’s literally so much graphic sex it was like reading a porno。 It didn’t fit in, almost seemed force。 I feel like the sex was thrown in so much at the beginning because she felt like she had to reach a quota, and the stor I really have mixed feelings。 The story was so good。 But I couldn’t get past the abusive and toxic relationship between Persephone and Hades。 They’re both terrible to one another。 We shouldn’t let these types of relationships be romanticized。 Also, in part one of this book, there’s literally so much graphic sex it was like reading a porno。 It didn’t fit in, almost seemed force。 I feel like the sex was thrown in so much at the beginning because she felt like she had to reach a quota, and the story line prevented sex for the majority of the rest of the book。 。。。more

I like it—this would be a 3。5 if I could。 But there's just something about it that makes me hesitant to make that leap to 4 stars, where I have so many good books rated。 I have a feeling we're still in the stages of development for the characters。 Looking forward to the next book。 I like it—this would be a 3。5 if I could。 But there's just something about it that makes me hesitant to make that leap to 4 stars, where I have so many good books rated。 I have a feeling we're still in the stages of development for the characters。 Looking forward to the next book。 。。。more

There were a few rough patches but overall a good follow-up to the first。 Hades deserves all the love。 Persephone has come into her own and I can’t wait to see bada** Sephy in the third and fourth books。

Sorry, but I absolutely loved this book even more than the first。 The struggles and the hardships of the beginning of a relationship。 Persephone’s personal struggles of wondering if she can take the role of Queen of the Underworld。 Persephone, soon Queen of the Underworld, or maybe not? Started out promising, better writing and more plot than the first book。 Ending felt so rushed and plot-lines were wrapped up weirdly or unnecessarily。 Persephone is pretty insufferable。 Hades felt like a side character。 Hecate, Hermes and Hades are the only enjoyable characters lol。

Amanda Blochowicz

This novel was a bit of a mess。 There are too many conflicts but they are resolved so quickly and even though some should be large, they aren’t handled as large conflicts。 I also didn’t enjoy the character arc of Persephone。 It felt sloppy。 I wish I had DNF’d this, but once I like the first in a series I generally like to finish said series, but not sure that will be the case for this one。

Okay。。。 okayHer immaturity kills me every time (which is almost every single page) but。。。 Okay。 Im not mad about how it ended

80% of the book was Persephone being a child。 The last 20% almost made up for it but felt very rushed rushed。

Not as good as the first。I'll read literally anything involving Hades and Persephone so I'll keep tearing into these I'm sure There were parts of this book I really liked but most of it was infuriating lol。 Not a great time but a good one nonetheless。 Not as good as the first。I'll read literally anything involving Hades and Persephone so I'll keep tearing into these I'm sure There were parts of this book I really liked but most of it was infuriating lol。 Not a great time but a good one nonetheless。 。。。more

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶🌶/5So, I think I enjoyed this one slightly more than the first? Don’t get me wrong, Persephone was still reckless and OFTEN made poor decisions without considering the consequences of her actions。。。but at least by book two, I’ve just accepted that that’s the way she is。 I guess I find it endearing though, as I too relate to doing/saying things without thinking at times! 3。5-ish!Soo it's basically Fifty Shades of Grey #2。 It's the after-the-honeymoon-phase where they hate and don't trust each other and the world is against them with some gangster stuff。 Basically。 It felt very frustrating as the character development and plot didn't really feel like it was going anywhere。 But my rating went up near the ending when things picked up。 Quotes: "More importantly, I love you。 Deeply。 Endlessly。 If you walked away from me today, I would love you still。 I would love you 3。5-ish!Soo it's basically Fifty Shades of Grey #2。 It's the after-the-honeymoon-phase where they hate and don't trust each other and the world is against them with some gangster stuff。 Basically。 It felt very frustrating as the character development and plot didn't really feel like it was going anywhere。 But my rating went up near the ending when things picked up。 Quotes: "More importantly, I love you。 Deeply。 Endlessly。 If you walked away from me today, I would love you still。 I would love you forever。 That’s what fate is, Persephone。 Fuck threads and colors, and fuck your uncertainty。""You look like a fucking queen。" “I am your queen。” Love me。 Kiss me。 Ruin me。 "Your fate is mine to unravel。" (Funnily, the last quote is not some romantic talk but Persephone staking revenge on someone。) 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 My only issue was that Persephone made some irrational quick choices which she ultimately paid for。 I was hoping for a little more character growth however, maybe they both needed to learn trust and to not jump into things when you don't know everything。 My only issue was that Persephone made some irrational quick choices which she ultimately paid for。 I was hoping for a little more character growth however, maybe they both needed to learn trust and to not jump into things when you don't know everything。 。。。more
